The Mullet Skirt

The mullet skirt is becoming more popular and seems to be a very odd new fad. This look has been seen before but known as the "high-low skirt". I've seen very many prom dresses the few last years but never thought it would catch on into an actual skirt. Will this look last long and stay a fad or will it become a fashion? Ulta Haul- Essence Makeup

Essence is a very inexpensive brand that Ulta stores usually sell in the drugstore makeup section. My first assumption of essence was that it was a children brand similar to the Bonnebell brand. However I have noticed many women buy it as well and it mainly focuses on makeup that women usually use. For example, pressed powder, blush, concealer, etc. Yesterday I made my way over to Ulta and decided to get a few things. I was planning on getting one or two things so I wouldn't blow my money on makeup, but being that essence is so cheap I scored a few things.

DIY: lets get CORNy :)

It's almost Thanksgiving and everytime I think about this particular holiday, corn instantly comes to mind. So why not celebrate it with a little corn. With just a few steps and craft items you probably have laying around the house, you can make your own corn headband!

Items needed (in picture above):
-a glue gun (bought at A. C. Moore for 2.99 it is a mini glue gun and doesn't get too hot so you may touch the glue after application and not get burned and it gets the job done)
-glue sticks (it only took me half a stick for the whole project)
-scrapbooking paper in yellow and green
-head bands (glittery ones were found at A. C. More from the line "LALiBERI" by Julie Comstock, they come three to a pack for around $3.00)
- yellow rhinestones
-green glitter puffy paint
bought: at Michaels and A.C. Moore

1. Cut out a lemon looking oval from the yellow scrapbooking paper.
From the green scrapbooking paper cut out leaves.
2. Glue the green leaves to the yellow corn by overlapping the green onto the yellow and make sure the corn doesn't stick out the bottom. (Glue gun was used to glue them together)
3. Take a paint brush and your green glitter puffy paint and paint the glitter on the leaves to add pizazz. After it has dried, glue the corn to the headband. (Also glued by glue gun and very easy)
4. To add "bling" (which is what every glamour girl needs) glue yellow rhinestones to the corn.

The finished product: very cute, catches the eye, and the most glamorous DIY accessory for the fall season :)
(disregard my pitiful hair in the picture, I'm a college kid and I woke up very early this morning for class and I go to a women's college, so it doesn't matter haha)

Christmas Gifts!

Oh how I love Christmas, but the days leading up to Christmas are terrible. The reason why I say this awful thing is because you have to pick out everyone's gifts. Some are easy, like for example: That wonderful co-worker you have that wears that same pin on her shirt EVERYDAY, she obviously needs a new one. Although there are also some people that just confuse you on what to get them. For example: That daughter of yours that stopped telling you everything and what she likes because, well, you know your just not a "cool mom" like everyone else's, and you just wouldn't understand. Well I can help you. I am going to blog atleast once a week to show whats "in", so you want have a problem with picking out a present for: your grandmother, daughter, mother, even that cousin that was twice removed.

Halloween Costume part 2

I went to Wal-mart today, only because my mom told me that they had better costumes than they usually do. So with my hopes held high, I did. As soon as I walked into the costume section I saw "it". "It" was a costumes I would never see me actually wearing, but I fell in love with it instantly. There are no words to explain the costume so I will show a picture.

Snow White! How cute is this costumes! Now in the picture the skirt looks like it goes to the knee, but the skirt is just about two inches shorter in person. Now I have to get some red lipstick, and I'll be ready for Halloween!

july favorites

So your probably wondering where I've been. Well I survived helping my mom with directing vacation bible school at church this week. Can we say EXHAUSTING! Then we had a carnival last night and I painted more than twenty faces. So as I rest, clean, and pack for the lake tomorrow, I figured I should do a post.

I decided to start a monthly thing where I post my monthly favorites. So these are my july favorites.

Words cannot express how amazing this product is. I will try though. Rimmel London' s Sexy Curves mascara is wonderful in so many ways. This is a mascara for everyone! It lengthens and volumizes your eyelashes, and the packaging is so cute.

I went to Dollar General monday in hopes that they restocked their E.L.F. products. Sadly they hadn't, but I did buy the eyelash curler and I love it!

Well this picture really doesn't do this lip gloss justice. In person its pinker. Anyways this is Ulta's lip gloss in "Baby".

I love candles, and these are my favorite candles. Bath and Bodys Work sleep candles. They don't really make me sleepy, but the lavender and vanilla scent is amazing.

OPI's Purple with a Purpose is the prettiest purple nail polish ever! Also, its not to dark for summer.

This my favorite lip gloss which is C.O. Bigelow's Lime flavored lip shine.

This my favorite gum ever! I love stride gum, but sweet peppermint is my favorite flavor.

I am so white! Although if I put Banana Boat's dark tanning oil on when I go tanning I get dark in half the time. Also it smells like bananas so thats another plus!

OMG! I love this whole series. If you start reading these books you will never want to put them down. It's the Pretty Little Liars series which is about five girls that were best friends in seventh grade until one went missing and the book picks up when the four left are in twelvth grade and someone keeps texting them their old secrets and claims to be their old friend that went missing. This series is not only for teenagers.

Okay first I obviously love Glamour magazine, and second I love Sandra Bullock.

Me and my mom have fallen in love with Fuze! I haven't had one that I didn't like, but my favorite is Banana Colada.

I also love smart water. Not only do I love water I just love the size of the bottles. I get these for five for five dollars at Food Lion.

Last is OPI's "Elephantastic pink". I love love love this color and it is so amazing for the summer.

Oh my gosh! I love Ulta's brand, everything is so pigmented. Although lately its been getting rather expensive, but no worries! If you haven't seen or heard already, Ulta is have a huge sale on their own makeup line.

Ulta's mascaras and mineral eye shadows are only five dollars.

The lip sticks, lip glosses, and mineral eye liner pencils are only four dollars.

4th of july(:
Well I have a post to do, but my computer is at Best Buy getting fixed by the "Geek Squad". So I have to use my mom's computer, and I don't really feel like posting my new post. But I am going to say Happy 4th of July and I hope everyone has a good one. I'm leaving in about thirty minutes to go with my family to the lake house and swim and ride the boat until five, then we're gonna have all my family over to cook hotdogs. Every year at the lake everyone that lives there buys almost five hundred dollars worth of fireworks and they all shoot them off around seven or eight. I can't wait!

Just another day with the Bargain Queens!

Well me and mom were sitting at the kitchen table eating Penn's(local burger and hot dog joint that taste way better than any fast food chain) for lunch and we decided to go shopping. Not just any kind of shopping where we go to the mall and buy a few clothes, no a normal everyday shopping trip in our town. Our itty bitty city has Walmart, Big Lots, Peebles, Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Rite-Aid, Cato, Payless, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Belk. I'm serious thats all we have! Anyways, we decided to go to Big Lots and our shopping trip grew from there.

I got a big bag of cotton balls for two dollars but I found the same exact bag at Dollar General later on for a dollar.

Three bottles of baby shapoo for thirty scents each! I buy baby shampoo to clean my makeup brushes.

Almost every Big Lots sells e.l.f.com(eyeslipface.com) makeup. E.l.f.com makeup is only a dollar online but with tax and shipping it adds up, but tw0 waterproof/regular mascara duos were a dollar!

After Big Lots we went down the road to Dollar Tree and bought a few things then walked over to Payless which was next door.

My mom bought these for me because they were having a buy one get the second half off. My shoes were nineteen dollars and hers were five dollars.

They also had the same sale for their jewelry so I bought two sets of earrings. One was two dollars and the othere pair were four dollars I think.

Next we walked over next door again to Cato and my mom bought me a cute yellow shirt to match my shoes.

Then me and my mom hit Dollar General on the way home and I bought these items.

I got a L.A. Colors Concealer, ten for a dollar candy sticks, and an all over brush.

This all over face brush is from e.l.f.com also. I had no idea Dollar General sold e.l.f.com makeup so I was super excited but everything they carry was sold out. Except for one all over face brush and a pair of eyelashes.

Depotting eyeshadows!

Have you ever ran out of room for all your eyeshadows? Well I have a solution once again. Depotting eyeshadows is fun and great for organization. Heres how to do it. Oh and make sure young kids aren't around because they might burn themselves.

You will need...
A piece of wax paper.

A straightener.

A pair of scissors.

A pair of tweezers(if the scissors can't get in the groove between the eyeshadow and the pot).

Your eyeshadow. Ulta stores have their own brand of makeup that is somewhat cheaper, and their eyeshadows are amazing. This is "Flutter" by Ulta.

A bottle of rubbing alcohol.

A cotton ball.

A small bag if you don't have a palette yet.

A palette. You can buy one on ebay.com, coastalscents.com, e.l.f.com, or MAC.com.

Okay lets get started...

Place the wax paper over one of the plates on you straightener.

Place your eyeshadow over the wax paper on the straightener for about a minute. When the glue starts melting work your scissors or tweezers in any groove you can find.

The eyeshadow should pop right out.

Now you have depoted your eyeshadow!

Wipe of the glue off with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Now you can either put your eyeshadow in a palette or in bag until you get a palette.

If you depot anything by MAC then you can take the left over pot to your local MAC store. If you bring six empty containers they will give you something for free in return.

My Bedroom!

I absolutely LOVE zebra print! I also LOVE any room that is just black and white with hints of red. My room was pink, orange, and blue, but it was getting old so I changed it about a year ago. I wanted to paint the room red, but my mom said that the color would stay the same. So now I have a orange, black, red, and white room!

When you walk in my room you first see the wild, zebra bed. My bed was already white so all it needed was new bedding and I put up a chandelier, a picture of the eiffel tower, and I tied a zebra bow on my big stuffed animal that I got for Valentines Day from my parents.

This is the quote over the head of my bed. I found it at Stein Mart for around ten dollars and stuck it up there.

My mom had this random big red chair for no reason so of course we put it in my room.

Beside my red chair is my mirror table which my mom also had for no reason. It holds has my red vase with huge feathers(Hobby Lobby), my frame with a picture of my friends(local store), and a charger dock for my phone(But lately all it holds is random junk)(TJ Maxx).

Above my red chair is my two magazine cover pictures I bought from A.C. Moore, my caricature from Florida, and my name in big wood letters was painted black to match.

This is my night stand beside my bed that I bought at HomeGoods I think. I keep cough drops, lotion, the current book I'm reading and my magazines in the two doors. Below is my drawer that I keep cords that go to my laptop, TV, camera, cell phone, etc.

This is the top of my night stand. It has my clock(already had), zebra(gift), DIVA sign(also already had) and my lamp(Hobby Lobby).

This is my desk that I bought at one of the local furniture stores. I already showed it in my earlier post.

I bought this zebra box at Home Goods. The picture is a picture of my class at last years formal(prom). The cross is a cross that came off my grandaddy's casket to give to his grandchildren. The two wine glasses are from two different formals at school.Last is the Clean Mist candle I bought from Bath and Body Works.

The top of my desk holds my TV, a picture of me and my cousin, a zebra "a"( it was just white but I soaked pieces of zebra tissue paper in glue and pasted them on), an eiffel tower clock(another random item my mom had), three snowbabys(gifts), and three candle holders.

Makeup!

I have this beautiful desk that I adore. I do my homework on it, it holds my tv, it holds my books, and it holds my dvds. Although it is the summer so I don't need the space I usually use for my homework. So I turned it into my makeup area.

I bought the three drawer organizer at Big Lots for $6.50! I already had the two sided, light up mirror, but the light doesn't work. The mat is a Redken Heat Protectant mat to sit your curling iron or flat iron on. I have no idea how much it was because I got it from my parents salon. It helps to not turn my white desk different colors when I drop makeup.

The bottom drawer of the organizer is all my mascaras,eye liners, and other junk.

The second drawer is everything for your face. Blushes, foundation, powders, and other things.

The top drawer is full of lip gloss and lip stick.

On top of my organizer is cotton swaps, lotion, shimmer powder, and my DIY brush in a cup(:

In this box I got for christmas is packed with my eyeshadows and eye shadow palletes.

Ta-da! Told you it was packed! Well that concludes my tour of my makeup area.

DIY!

About everyone knows what DIY means (do it yourself). Well I have a new DIY idea for you bloggers out there.

Have you ever wondered where in the world will you put all your makeup brushes? Well I have, so I found the solution.

1. Grab a bag of sand.

I bought this sand with glitter already in it at Big Lots.

2. Find a cute vase or cup.

I bought this cup at HomeGoods to hold my pencils on my desk. Although I never put pencils in it unless they don't work so...

4. Put the sand in the cup.

5. Stick all your makeup brushes in the sand and they will stand on their own.

No Connection to the Internet for a Whole Week Will Make You Go CRAZY!!!

So what had happened was... haha. That is usually what comes out of my mouth when I'm in trouble(: Although this time I'm not in trouble. I went to Raleigh, North Carolina to be a senate page, so I had planned to bring my laptop and post blogs all week. When I got to the hotel after work the second day I found that my computer's wireless internet connection is completely frozen. Atleast until I take it to Best Buy tuesday. Since my wonderful daddy felt sorry for me, he showed me how to hook the internet cable to my laptop. So now I shall post my new posts, and boy do I have lots to post!

First, I shall enlighten you on the HUGE semi annual sale at Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works. (I finally found my camera, but sadly it is dead. Therefore I will show you pictures from the internet.)

Now everyone that knows me knows that my weakness is makeup and handbags! I love love love makeup. I even have a makeup station in my room, but I will save that for another post. Anyways I just had to buy some of Victoria's Secret's awesome makeup and a few other things.

I got two of these cream eyeshadows in "glampagne". It is a nude color with glitter which would be great for a base.

I also got two of these lovely single eyeshadows in "dazzle" and "purr". I already wear "purr" but it can't hurt to have a backup! haha Well thats how I look at it. "Dazzle is a gorgeous white glittery color and "purr" is dark brown.

Not only do I love makeup, I also love lotion or anything that smells good. So of course I got Beauty Rush's "Spicee Apple". I did get the matching "Spicee Apple" shimmer too!

Last, I got the mini "so sexy" hairspray for a dollar!

Although I did get lots more that I intend to share! After I hit Victoria's Secret I practically stole from Bath and Body Works haha.

I bought a small "Dancing Waters" candle that you melt over a candle for thirty-seven cents!

I also got foam burst body wash in my favorite smell at Bath and Body Works..."Sweet Pea". The body wash was only four dollars!

I am obsessed with anything that has the scent of coconut which brings me to my next buy. Bath and Body Works lotion in "Exotic Coconut" for four dollars!

These gloves are not just any ordinary gloves...they are moisturizing gloves! I know you probably have the same excitement I did...your excitement is completely understandable haha. These were $2.50! Oh and I bought a small "Wild Hunnysuckle" candle for thirty-seven cents and a big candle in "Clean Mist" for $2.37.

Now if you are like me you can't stop after two sales. No, you have to keep going, it would be a total crime to stop. Also if you are in a two story mall with stores that have sale signs in every window...well anyways I bought two more things.

My brother, Josh, just graduated high school. So like a great younger sister would do. I bought him a Hollister & Co. shirt to put in his graduation basket I am fixing him. I bought him this light blue polo for fifteen dollars! He has SUPER dark skin so it will look great on him.

Last but not least I just had to go to Forever 21. Mostly because this Forever 21 was HUGE. I bought all these items in Raleigh on wednesday, but thursday I had to wear high heels with a cranberry suit. So instead of pain I decided to glam my outfit a bit and buy these sequined ballet flats! cute right?!

Well it is 10:54 pm here, so I think I will read some of my new book I got from the thrift store "Essence of Style". Then go to bed, and tomorrow I will post a new blog about my jewelry business(: Goodnight!

The Hot List of Summer.

As I grazed my favorite magazine, Harper's Bazaar, I thought about making a Hot List. A Hot List for my blog to tell everyone whats in for the season.

Jewelry shirts are the cutest shirts ever. Actually I haven't done it yet, but most jewelry shirts are DIY projects. This shirts is ten dollars at Charlotte Russe.

Bronzer is great to bring when you go to the beach, because instead of wearing tons of foundation you can just brush this all over your face. This bronzer/blush duo is at elf.com for three dollars!

Kabuki brushes are amazingly soft! They're used to put your bronzer on. This kabuki brush is $4.99 at Walgreens.

Maxi dresses are colorful and gorgeous! This one is $22.80 at Forever 21.

How cute is this skirt?! This adorable flowered skirt is $15.84 at Forever 21.

OMG! Amazing right?! I love love love this flower/pearl necklace at Forever 21 for $12.80.

Wedges are so cute! These are at Kohl's for $18.97!

Yes costume jewelry is back! Oh and green jewelry is totally IN! These earrings are $3.80 at Forever 21.

Sugar Cosmetics at TJMaxx

So out of all the makeup brands my favorites are: NYX Cosmetics and Sugar Cosmetics. I know that MAC and NARS is supposed to be amazing, but both are way to expensive. Anyways I love Sugar Cosmetics, but its also expensive. About a year ago TJMaxx decide to sell my two favorite brands: Sugar Cosmetics and Betsey Johnson! Which leads me to my purchases below.

I bought this lip slick in "Sand", which is the third one in the picture. It was $9.00 online and I bought it for $2.99!

This lip gloss is in "Modpodge" and was also $2.99 and $12.00 online.

Ahhh I love this palette. It's called "Sugar is a girl's best friend" and I bought it for $7.00. Online it is $36.00!

Cherry Culture Sale On NYX Cosmetics!

I love NYX Cosmetics, its a great makeup line that has great colors and is inexpensive. Usually you can pick NYX Cosmetics up at an Ulta, but CherryCulture.com sells it about the same price but they always have a sale!

I love these little bottles of eyeshadow. They look like they don't hold much, but they really hold lots of eyeshadow. Anyways these little bottles usually cost two dollars, but they are on sale for $1.50!

Next is the NYX Single Eye Shadow, they are usually pretty pricey but these are on sale for $3.50!

These are my favorites, NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils. These usually run about $3.50 but they are on sale for $3.00!

NYX Long Pencil Eyeliners are two dollars each. These are on sale for a dollar!

NYX Slim Eye Pencil is usually three dollars but is on sale for $2.50!

Last is the NYX Eyeshadow Trios which cost eight dollars, but are on sale for $5.50!

What does ten dollars get you at Claire's?

Well if you've ever asked yourself that question, then the answer is ten things! Claire's has its ten for ten sale at the most random times during the year. I always seem to find this sale a month before christmas so I buy ten things for friends and family presents, but this year I found this sale a week or two ago.

These bows were originally $3.50. This adorable Hello Kitty bracelet was orginally $8.50!
The brown hoop earrings were $7.00. The matching Hello Kitty earrings were $7.50! Last, the black earring were $6.50.

I also got four necklaces. The first necklace is actually two black necklaces and they were $8.50 each. The next necklaces was originally $7.50. The cute silver necklaces with the mini owl on it was $6.50. The last one was originally $10.50!

TJMaxx extravaganza!

As I already stated in my last post I am going to Raleigh, North Carolina to be a Senate Page in about a week. So I am showing all my bargains and good sale items I bought to wear.

This cute dress was only ten dollars!
This Nine West suit was originally two hundred dollars, but I got it for twenty-nine dollars!
This outfit did not cost a thing since I bought it a long time ago but I wanted you to see all four outfits.

This Robert Louis suit was twenty dollars! The shirt was not on sale but it was only 12.99!

Of course I have to get shoes! I got these at JcPenney's for $25.99 yesterday, they originally were sixty five dollars! They will go with all my outfits and just in case I will still keep flats in my pocketbook. Oh and I have a pair of brown flats to go with my brown outfit since my black high heels won't match.

Seriously who does three posts in one day!

My daily hair products and tools

I was gonna do a in and out post, but it slowly turned to what I do to my hair daily. I love buying hair products but hate having to actually use them. I would rather cut out all the time I spend on my hair and use more time on my makeup or fix my outfit for the day. Unlike most people I take a shower at night instead of the morning because it takes so long to dry my hair. I never use any product at night, only in the morning when I straighten it.

The first bottle in the picture is my biolage travel size hair spray that I keep in my pocketbook. Its great when I'm rushed before a basketball game to get ready. So as soon as I get to the gym I spray my hair before we practice our cheers for cheerleading. The next bottle is my Lanza Healing Moisture Color Care Shine Glistener, I use It when my hair looks dull. The blue bottle in the middle is my Lanza Healing Moisture Silk Serum, my hair gets so frizzy and curly with humidity. North Carolina is full of humidity, so I put a dime size in my hands and work it through my hair to stay straight. Next is Redken's Spray Starch which is a heat protecting, light hold spray. Last is my itty bitty CHI Silk Infusion. I use it occasionally before I dry my hair.

Last is my tools. First is my pink Zoe straightener, I would never leave the house if I didn't have a straightener because my hair is a giant frizz ball when I blow dry it. Speaking of blow drying the next tool is my pink travel size Berry Dryer. I love this little thing. It's not as loud as a usual blow dyer, and it blows a sweet smelling strawberry scent. I use the next tool to part my air and tease my curls when I actually curl my hair. The blue brush is my usual brush to use with my straightener. The grey brush is my roll brush that I use with my blow dryer.

"Mom, I Think I'm In Heaven!"

Was the exact words that came out of my mouth when I walked into Cosmoprof. The store for hairstlyists which is only because you must have your hair cutting license to get in or purchase anything. Although, my parents own a salon so we may go if we have the salon license. Anyways to get back on subject, i went and got some great deals, but my mom (scooter blu's whimsy) thinks that is just an excuse to buy makeup, hair products, nail polish, etc. Don't get me wrong, my mom is a hardcore bargain women on thrift store items, or when she, herself, needs an excuse to get out of my dad's stare when he finds out how much she spent. We are "Two peas in a pod" as she would say. Oh well, now to stay on subject i will show you lovely blogging people my great deals and other stuff I bought.

First I bought this adorable set of OPI lotions in the pocket size.

The scents are (from left to right): jasmine juice, rasberry violet juice, crisp apple juice, cran & berry juice, peach juice, and coconut melon juice. All for 4.95!

Next I bought an OPI nail polish for 2.95! They usually run 4.95 at CosmoProf but this one was on sale(:

This gorgeous color is called "Glacier Bay Blues" from the Canadian collection.

While grazing the nail isle and reading the hilarious names of each bottle i came across this one that caught my eye instantly.
The "custom kicks" color from China Glaze looks blue but don't let this awesome color fool you it's actually a green color on your finger nails!(3.95)

Last but certainly not least is the other color that I ran across by China Glaze. I am going to be a senate page in about a week, so I had to get a color that was pretty but not bright and went with every suit that I am wearing which were also great bargains, but we will save that for another post.
